The three Applied Knowledge exams provide an introduction to the world of finance and accounting. You’ll gain a broad understanding of essential accounting techniques, covering the following areas:
Business & technology - BF/FBT
Management accounting - MA/FMA
Financial accounting - FA/FFA
Once you’ve completed these three exams, you’ll be awarded the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RFQ Level 4) and be eligible to start the Applied Skills Exams.
The Skills and Professional exams, when combined with real life, practical experience, form the full ACCA qualification and aim to develop respected, well rounded, global finance professionals.

ACCA and Oxford Brookes University have worked together to develop a BSc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting, available exclusively to ACCA students who wish to obtain a degree while studying towards the ACCA Qualification.
If you’re interested, you’ll need to submit a Research and Analysis Project (RAP) to Oxford Brookes University. To do this, we can provide a Reed Learning Project Mentor, who will guide you through the RAP work and help you develop your personal skills including questioning, listening and giving a presentation.
The cost of this service is £475 + VAT.
What do you need to get started?
You need to have three GCSEs and two A-levels in five separate subjects including Maths and English (or equivalent) to be able to start the ACCA qualification. It’s quick and easy to become a registered ACCA student, you can apply online at any time of year.
